Engagement Photos

Engagement photos are a lot of fun. It's a great time to get to know your photographer better and gives you an opportunity to work with them before the wedding, as many couples tend to use the same photographer.

A big difference between my engagement photography and wedding photography is that more engagement photos are usually posed. However, most photographers are very flexible and try to keep the posing natural and relaxed. Most are also open to any suggestions or ideas the couple has in relation to photos they would like.

You may prefer instead of working in the picture studio, to work outside at a park or some other location. Take a variety of engagement photos, close ups to wide angled shots, from posed couple shots to casual walking hand-in-hand photos.

Photographs from the engagement session can be used on the wedding invitation,  if you are going to have a custom invitation printed. Another option is to include a wallet sized print with the invitations. Many couples also give them out to their friends and family as gifts as well. You may choose you forgo the engagement session if you are on a tight budget, if so have a family member or friend take some photos for you. At any rate you will have these treasured memories forever. Be sure to ask about packages because some photographers have packages that include engagement and wedding photos sessions, even the bridal portrait!
