Potential Wedding Budget Busters
When planning your budget, it's important to remember the possibility of
surprise costs, which can add up fast even in the biggest of budgets. Unexpected
expenses can blow your budget and cause unnecessary stress on you and your
fiancé. Factor in a few
hundred extra dollars for "just in case," and review this list for potential budget
busters.
1)
Do you live out of state from your wedding location? Trips
for planning sessions can add up to a bundle of money.
2)
Does anyone in the wedding live out of state? Long-distance phone calls can get
expensive quickly!
3)
Going shopping? Your desire for new clothes, shoes and jewelry for the big day or honeymoon might surprise you.
4)
Have you scheduled a day of beauty for yourself? Haircuts, manicures, pedicures,
facials and massages aren't cheap, but if you budget for them ahead of time you
will be able to relax.
5)
You may find a few people for whom you forgot to buy gifts. More than likely, your
groom and attendants will be taken care of, but what about your parents, special
friends involved in the wedding, and others?
6)
Do you have out-of-town guests invited to the wedding? You may want to surprise
them with flowers or a fruit basket in their hotel room.
7)
Planning on entertaining those out-of-town guests? Dining out bills will mount up
quickly.
8)
Do you need to see the doctor or dentist before the big day? Factor in funds for
medical and dental fees.
9)
Will you and your new hubby be mailing wedding announcements? Postage costs
might surprise you at 37 cents or more a pop.
10)
Hiring a limo? Taking a taxi or shuttle to the airport? Don't forget fare or tip money for
traveling.
11)
Need to replenish your makeup stash or buy travel-size items for the honeymoon?
Beauty products are essential, but they can get expensive!
Try to anticipate as many costs as you can so you and your fiancé can build a
realistic budget that will see you through to the last detail with the least
amount of stress possible.
